Abstract EN

Teaching the Arabic language in Algeria faces increasing difficulties, chief among them are those related to dyslexia or reading difficulties, and the main reason behind that is the lack of interest for reading readiness programmes associated to preschool.

This paper sheds light on the preschooler's reading readiness skills, by analyzing the contents of the language activities notebook used in preschools throughout Algeria.

The study aims at identifying and evaluating the skills contained in the notebook, in order to give effectiveness to this book in preparing the child to read once he/she reaches the elementary school.
