Abstract EN

As-samâ' was one form of control exercised by ancient Arab linguists.

These forms of control were instituted according to a normative process with the aim of defining the Arabic language, the collection.

This has resulted in the loss of a large quantity of the Arabic lexicon which does not conform to the requirements they have.

In the sense, as-samâ ‘conceived as a linguistic criterion for the collection of the words of the Arabic language, cannot embrace everything, and therefore can constitute an obstacle to the good knowledge of the flexibility of the Arabic language.

It is from this observation that the Algerian linguist El-Hadj Saleh undertook to re-read the criterion of 'as-samâ' from a linguistic perspective, by taking up the texts of the ancients with a view to a modern linguistic re-reading, not without taking into consideration the doctrines or theories of ancient Arabic linguistics or dispensing with them, but rather in order to reformulate the question in modern linguistic considerations, a reformulation whose criteria will be revealed as well in what is pronounced as in what is perceived and written.

El-Hadj Saleh, by taking seriously the acquired knowledge of modern linguistics and reformulating the main lines of as-samâ ‘marked to found the Arabic linguistic tradition in a global scientific perspective.

We therefore propose, in this work, to question the work of linguist El-Hadj Saleh by asking the following questions: Was he able to grasp the harmful engines that the reduction in the collection of Arabic had caused? What criticisms has he formulated on this subject as well as these contributions in his quest to reformulate as-sama "? What are the theoretical bases on which it relied.
