The increasing rates of urbanization in the city of Mahmudiyah led to pressure on services on educational services, which led to the establishment of schools in an unthought and lacking most of the appropriate standards required so the importance of this study in the analysis and diagnosis of the state of primary education and determine how it is distributed and the extent of functional and spatial efficiency in To provide the necessary service to the population at the level of residential neighborhoods in the city, so the problem of the study on the following (Is the distribution of the primary education service is efficient and compatible with international standards and local? Is there a balance between the spatial distribution of schools and population density According to residential neighborhoods? Is the preparation of pupils, people and teachers meet the criteria set for them?) , The most important programs used to produce the study maps are Arc Gis9.3.

The main conclusions of the study are that there is a deficit in the school buildings to eliminate the duplication in primary school time.

The study found that the distribution trend of the primary schools extends from north to south and that the average center is located in the district of justice and the circle that represents the standard distance contains More elements than outside, leading to the existence of a situation of dispersion in the distribution of primary schools in the study area.
