This article aims to project the possibility of a constructivist theory in the field of communication studies.

For a long time, communication research has been dominated by the controversy between two paradigms: functionalism and the critical approach.

Constructivism has also captured large areas of research in the human and social sciences through its ability to overcome this conflict, and in light of all this, constructivism has proved its efficacy in giving a new twist to the communication theory and injecting it with a new vision that has allowed it to catch up with the evolution of contemporary thought.
