The tonal expression is considered the highest and most powerful type of linguistic expression in significance, as it is by its sophisticated style and its different structures sets Man apart from the rest of the creatures and contributes to the communication process by showing meanings, indications and influence on the recipient, and each speaker has his voice tone, it is a personal characteristic that distinguishes his style and his way of speaking, and expresses his psychological state and his ability to communicate his intentions.

Hence the great importance of studying intonation and explaining its importance in human contact with humans, as it is a great characteristic in highlighting the semantic levels and clarity of the speakers' intentions, because the sound is considered one of the most important entrances to the human soul, which has an innate tendency to the rhythm as intonation-free speech falls short of conveying purpose.

Although the significance of the sentence in Arabic may be evident through tools and signs of expression, toning has a great rhetorical role in explaining the speaker's state of anger, surprise, denial, proof, or denunciation.

Our article seeks to identify "intonation" and its functions, And the contribution of these functions to the linguistic communication among the learners of the Arabic language.
