Abstract EN

Pragmatics basically stands on the Speech Acts Theory, which is considered to be the main focus of the current study.

This theory stands on a hypothesis which claims that words are actions that have social dimensions realized through contextual clues, these actions aim at explaining the receivers' status and his/ her system of beliefs according to the external circumstances surrounding him/ her.

In the current article, we will apply the Speech Acts Theory to Ali's replies in order to show its role in accomplishing the Alaouian discourse which is based on the action and the reaction where words are transformed to actions; so as the communicative and intentional purposes of the issues tackled by Imam Ali are realized.
