The city of Tetouan has a rich and varied heritage, which formed its memory in the past, and can form a base for its tourism development at the present time.

It is noticeable that the components of the urban heritage of Tetouan are suffering from a significant deterioration and decline due to the severity of the social, economic and cultural transformations, and because of the continuous neglect that affected this city by the public authorities.

Generally, based on this research paper, we try to reveal a real fundamental paradox that characterizes the reality of the ancient city of Tetouan today, as it is on the one hand the cradle of civilization for many centuries, rich in expressions and cultural forms, and with a distinct production of traditional industry, but on the other hand, it lives in a difficult situation, especially if we know its framework The building is either threatened with collapse, or has reached a great degree of deterioration.

This is what calls for intervention to preserve this heritage.
