Abstract EN

The study discusses the sections of the classical Arabic poem from two perspectives: the classical literary criticism and the theory of (Rites of Passage) by Van Gennep.

The study focuses on Ibn ʿ Uthaymīn's poem (Qad Ballaghatka almahārī) based on the two previous points of view to discuss the idea of belonging to the community as a main idea that forms the poem's sections, themes and style, mainly its verbal lexicon.

Moreover, the study draws on the application of Suzanne Stetkevych's theory of rites of passage to the classical Arabic poem.
