Abstract EN

This reading of Professor Mouley Belahmissi's writings is an invitation for exploring some unknown aspects in the history of Algeria.

The topic is concerned with the cultural history of Algiers during the Ottoman era.

Algiers became the capital of the new system, established in the 10th century of Hegira -16th century-; that is to say, the Ottoman system after the joining of Algeria to the Ottoman Empire.

Algiers had been quickly transformed into a forum to a considerable number of scholars during that period.

I intend to thoroughly observe the cultural state in Algiers during the Ottoman epoch throughout examining a typed document.

The latter was held to me by Pr.

Belahmissi – may God have mercy upon his soul- as I was a student-researcher under his supervision in 1999.

Cette lecture des écrits du Professeur, Mouley Belhamissi, est une invitation à la découverte de parages inconnus de l'histoire d'Alger.

Il s'agit de l'histoire culturelle de la ville d'Alger à l'époque Ottomane.

Alger, qui était à la fois, Capitale du nouveau régime installé au XVIe siècle, c'est-à-dire celui des Ottomans, est rapidement devenue désormais un forum pour un nombre considérable de savants à cette époque.

Dans le cadre de cette lecture, je voudrais envisager l'état culturel à Alger Ottomane, en examinant un document dactylographié, qui m'a été remis en 1999, par le Professeur M.

Belhamissi, en tant qu'étudiant chercheur préparant sous sa direction, une thèse sur les relations entre l'Algérie et l'Italie à l'époque Ottomane.
