The term Al-Andalus is considered among the terms that made the attention of researchers over the history, this term is characterized that is “strange” in Arabic language, so, they put forward hypotheses that try to explain the origin of this term, the famous number of hypotheses is five, we mentioned them with their proofs and arguments, and we clarified the responses on the two sides: the historical and linguistic, then, we put our hypothesis paired with the historical and linguistic proofs, that we think that are appropriates, to explain the cause of the nomenclature, explaining that this term does not belong to the Arabic language and how it was transported to the Arab conquerors, depending on the historical method.
