The western Mediterranean region witnessed important changes in the political and civilizational arenas, as this period witnessed weakness and fall The ruling countries of the Maghreb (Hafsid, Ziyanid, Merinid), which paved the way for the expansion of the region by new powers in the Mediterranean basin represented by the Spanish Empire and the Ottoman Empire, which will both expand in the Maghreb countries and the western Mediterranean, at the beginning of the 16th century AD.

And from this, this study deals with a new reading in the political developments of Tripoli of West since the beginning of the collapse of the Hafsid rule in the city in the mid-15th century AD and until the Ottoman conquest in 1551 AD, where this paper is concerned with studying the fragmentation of Hafsid rule in Tripoli of West and the establishment of independent tendencies against the Hafsid presence.

In the city, which ended with the Spanish occupation in 1510 AD, indicating in the midst of this the goals of the Spanish concentration in Tripoli of West, as we are researching the receipt of the rule of Malta by the Spanish rule by the Spaniards and used as a strategic and vital center to control the Mediterranean in the midst of the Christian-Islamic conflict in the region at the beginning of the modern era Finally, the research deals with the beginning of the Ottoman presence in Tripoli of West, or rather the opening of relations between the Ottoman Empire and the inhabitants of the city, and the repeated Ottoman attempts to subjugate and annex them to Ottoman rule, which will be achieved permanently by the Ottoman fleet, to do this by the Ottoman regency of Tripoli of West in 1551AD.
