Abstract EN

In this work, we have attempted to elucidate epistemological progress in the biological field.

We looked at the historical issue of science and philosophy in biology.

In the first chapter, we have clarified the current dominant scientific vision, which presents itself through the extraordinary development of studies in biology.

The latter revolted against any metaphysical interpretation prevailing, on the other hand, mechanical and experimental interpretations which was the object of refusal by contemporary philosophers, quoting first H Bergson.

This philosopher tried to return biology to the hands of philosophy; he thus denied any rational or scientific interpretation of life while setting up an intuitive methodology to understand the essence of life according to philosophical explanations which go with its specificities and its vital and temporal character.
