Alternative means of justice for resolving legal disputes, particularly mediation provided for by the Algerian legislature under law 15-12of july 2015 on child protection, have become of great importance to the prosecution of a delinquent child who is still in the stage of mental and physical development and has not yet reached the age of majority.

The legislator has devoted this mechanism to prevent the imposition of penal sanction, to put an end to penal punishment, as well as to the preservation of the rights of the victim, and thus the Algerian legislator has classified the mediation mechanism as an alternative to the public proceedings.
