تجدر الاشارة الى أن أن علماء القراءات و معاني القرآن كان لهم السبق في إدراك ظاهرة المخالفة فأطلقوا عليها عدة مصطلحات ككراهية توالي الأمثال أو ثقل النطق بالمتماثلين المتقاربين إلى غير ذلك من العبارات التي تدل على مادل عليه مصطلح المخالفة عند المحدثين فهي ظاهرة تعمد إلى فك الإدغام لاقتصاد الجهد العضلي أي إذا تجاور صوتان متماثلان فهي تعمد إلى تغيير أحدهما للسهولة و التيسير و الانسجام.
