Abstract EN

The issue of divine attributes has occupied a significant place in the history of Islamic philosophical thought.

It has obviously preoccupied theologians' minds, and has been an object of debate, specially among Muʿtazilites (Isolationists) and Asha'rites besides Moslem philosophers and Sufis.

The Salafis had a clear approach to divine attributes.

This approach is based on the rule that any attribute that Allah has ascribed to Himself or that His Prophet has ascribed to Him, is an attribute in a real sense, and is not metaphorical.
