English Abstract

A pot study was conducted in the department of soil sciences and water resources, college of agriculture, university of Al-Qadisiyah, during the agricultural season of 2017-2018 according to the design completely randomized design (C.R.D).

h1- and two levels of sulfate fertilizer (agricultural and wettable) Sa and S (200) kg S.h1- were used.

The corn seeds of DKC 6120 cultivar were planted on 15/7/2017 to study the effect of its application level of phosphate fertilizer, and sulfate fertilizer (agricultural and wettable) and their interaction in concentration of available phosphorus in the corn rhizosphere and bulk soil and sulfur concentration in the vegetative and root parts of the plant during plant growth periods (40, 70, and 100) days of planting.

The results showed that the highest concentration of the available phosphorus is achieved with the phosphate level (42.83, 31.63, and 27.21) μg.

g1- in the rhizosphere while the bulk soil (47.49, 37.58, and 29.46) μg.

g1- soil of periods of 40, 70 and 100 days of planting, respectively.

Application of agricultural sulfur lead to decreased the concentration of available phosphorus (not significant) as compared to the control.

Sa application level of sulfur fertilizer resulted in the lowest concentration of available phosphorus (10.73, 9.84 and 7.63) μg.

g1- in the rhizosphere and (11.90, 10.51 , 9.25) μg.

g1- in bulk soil at (40 , 70 and 100) days of planting dates, respectively.

In general , concentration of available phosphorus was reduced with increasing measurement periods.

The concentration of sulfur in the vegetative was the highest concentration achieved when application phosphate level interation with sulfur fertilizer SaP (1525) mg.

Kg1- dry matter in 100 days of planting, while the concentration of sulfur in the roots was the highest concentration in the period of 40 days of planting (1382) mg.

Kg1- at the SP treatment which decreased with increasing of growth periods.
