English Abstract

A field experiment was conducted in AL-Mhanauia Research Station in Babel Government, during growing seasons 2018 in clay soil, to evaluate the response of two cauliflower varieties (Ramy and Solid Snow) and bio and/or organic fertilizers under water stress.

The experiment was laid according to the randomized complete block design (RCBD), arranged in split plot with three replications for each treatment.

Two varieties of cauliflower in the main plots, And four fertilizer treatments which were : Bio and 50% NPK, organic fertilizer and 50% NPK, bio + organic fertilizer and 50% NPK, and 100% NPK as recommended (control) in the sub plots.

Water stress arranged under sub sub plots 35, 50 and 65% depletion of available water.

The water content of depletion water for 0-0.2m layer was calculated from planting till shoot growth and increasing of irrigation water depth to include 0-0.3m during curd and yield formation stages.

Actual evapotranspiration was estimate using water balance equation.

1.

ETa values recorder 340, 395 mm at 35% depletion of available water for Ramy and Solid Snow varieties, respectively, while the increase water stress leads to decreased the actual evapotranspiration, and the decreased to 8.82% and 16.18% for 50 and 65% depletion of available water, respectively for Ramy varieties; and 13.92%, 21.52% for 50 and 65% depletion of available water, respectively for Solid Snow varieties.

2.

Also result showed the role application of bio and/or organic fertilizers to decreased water stress in spite of decreased depth of water applied in treatment 50% and 65% depletion of available water compare to 35% treatments for two varieties.
