The word is used to describe the contest between western powers to secure dominance and spheres of influence in the third world through programs of structural reforms by the World Organisation of Commerce set up in 1995.

The advocates of globalisation justify their policies by claiming that they are extending the benefits of civilisation.

We want in this analysis to explore both positive and negative economic effects of globalization.

And the emphasis will be on the financial aspect and its influence on financial institutions.
