The study aimed to identify the mediating role of cognitive attentional syndrome in the relationship between dogmatism and behavioral extremism, suicidal probability among university students; to achieve this objective the study followed the descriptive approach in its correlation form, and applied Rokeach Dogmatism scale- Form- E (By: Khoj); Behavioral Extremism scale (By: the research); Gull& Gill Suicidal Probability scale (By: Al-Behiri) & Cognitive Attentional Syndrome scale (By: the research) to the study sample of (968) students; which were randomly derived from the study population to representing the most of Sohag university faculties, and by using the appropriate statistical methods; the study found that: there was a statistically significant relationship at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.01) between the dogmatism and behavioral extremism among the university students, and also there was a statistically significant relationship at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.01) between the dogmatism and suicidal probability, and there was a statistically significant relationship at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.01) between cognitive attentional syndrome and both dogmatism, behavioral extremism& suicidal probability, the results also showed that: the cognitive attentional syndrome- and its different dimensions- mediated the relationship between the dogmatism and behavioral extremism among the students of the university, also the cognitive attentional syndrome- and its different dimensions- mediated the relationship between the dogmatism and suicidal probability among the students of the university.
According to these findings, a set of recommendations were presented that could contribute to reducing intellectual stalemate, behavioral extremism and the probability of suicide among university students.
