The present research aims at suggesting some ways for the activation of action research.

It focuses on the professional development of the basic education teachers (1st level) in Dakahlya governorate.

This research uses the descriptive method that is based on the theorization of both professional development and action research.

In addition, the objective of field research is to recognize the use of action research for the professional development of the basic education teachers (1st level) in Dakahly governorate.

Moreover, obstacles as well as their solutions have been put into consideration.
