Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the trends of change in some elements and climatic phenomena in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the period (1985-2017).

In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the analytical descriptive method followed.

The researcher analyzed the data of some elements and weather phenomena in Riyadh, Arar, and Najran, and compared them annually, monthly and quarterly, as well as comparing the trends of elements and phenomena of climate during the last three decades, The researcher distributed the period of study into three periods, each one contains (11) years, and conducted a comparison between these three periods, whether increasing or decreasing.

The most important findings of the study are the results of the trend of wind speed to rise overall in the Kingdom.

The pressure rates were stable during the study period, at the same time the maximum relative humidity has stabilized in the last decade, while the relative humidity tends to rise during the same decade.

The maximum temperature has decreased slightly in the past decade, and the minimum temperature has risen steadily.

The amount of rain fluctuated, but it fell sharply from the middle of the study period, ie during the last (18) years.

With regard to weather events, all the events studied, namely thunderstorms, fog, dust and sand storms, were observed to rise significantly from the middle of the study period and are still on the rise.
