Text linguistics presents repetition as a means for cohesion on the lexicon level coherence.

Accordingly, the study presents Ahmed Matter's poetry, to detect the various types of repetition to clarify its effect in cohesion, and the most important aesthetic and rhetorical aspects of repetition in the construction of the text.

The findings showed that different types of repetition formed a style phenomenon in Maters' poetry; showing an overwhelming existence in the text rhetorical and achieving cohesion through linking its parts, there is interrelatedness between repetition and the poet’s rhetorical force.
