Contemporary poets have been in the shoes of their predecessors in their focus on women as a symbol of home, land, universe and life.

They would use distinct style preferring most of them the topic of women in their prelude of their poems expressing their love and suffering for their loss.

In some cases, the whole poem is dedicated to the romantic relationship with the her.

The current study tries to explore the deep meaning in the poem of the Libyan poet Hasan al-Susi through semiotic approach.

Among the significant conclusions of the study: The poet had used simple and clear language to describe women spiritually and physically without overdoing the expressions.

This is apparent from the theme and content of the poem.

Some of the deep meaning in several places in the poem were brought up to the surface.

The style sometimes was elevated with deep meaning that would seize the readership’s attention due to its effect in capturing deep thinking.

The feminine discourse is more evident in the poem making the poet seemed weaker as someone who is in the position of ‘asking’.

The feminine symbol and figure therefore stand out more as the sought after in the poetic and social aspects.
