Abstract EN

The scientific theft (plagiarism) is considered lesion that most universities and educational institutions have problem with.

The technology and the legislative aspect have the role t in facilitating the expansion of this phenomenon.

This crime (plagiarism) indicates an obvious violation of copyright against the original author as it infringes on the name of its rights and this represents the right of the author, and it creates obstacles for the progress of society in all respects, as well as it harms the reputation of universities in the country.

Through this study we found that the Iraqi legislator did not directly address and explicitly this crime, not in the Penal Code not in the law of copyright protection.
