Abstract EN

The Constance school proposed benchmarks for a theory of reading and interpreting texts via two axes: the first is that of reading with Wolfgang ISER, the second of reception with H.

R Jauss, by focusing on the act of interaction between the text and the reader.

Each axis is based on a series of procedural notions including mainly that of textual blanks which is our interest in the current research.

The importance of this contribution is consolidated by the discussion of the ontological status of blanks taking into consideration that Iser himself recognizes the difficulty, because he did not define them in a precise way, moreover it is so narrow since he worked on the narrative text and neglected the poetic one, thus opening up great prospects for innovating in this aspect.

This is only achieved by solving these main problems: how do blanks contribute to the act of reading text and that of semiosis? How far has Iser been able to establish the benchmarks of the blanks of the text that translate the literary discourse in its entirety? Isn't possible to conceive types of blanks that exceed the limits of the possibilities of combinations between the elements constituting the text?
