The question of competence in translation is still arising strongly as an urgent and inevitable necessity for a successful translation process notably in literary translation field that has a particular specificity in front of the traditional and literal translation practices.

This type of translation surpasses both the linguistic and the cognitive competence imposing an interpretative competence in transferring not the dictionary words meanings but the pure intentional and contextual meanings related to the author who possesses the language.

Hence, the translator is obliged to play the role of an interpreter with neither excess nor negligence in using this interpretative competence
