It is a subject of great importance, especially when it comes to examining the tools related to this cohesion.

The latter contributes to the link between the components of the text, and its form as well as its significance.

And the pronoun is one of the most powerful elements to achieve reference.

There is no doubt that the poetic text is a text that is characterized by cohesion and coherence.

Thus, it is not possible to understand its contents, without studying the effect of reference in stating the meanings of the text.This research seeks to examine the effect of pronoun reference on the coherence of the text “Poems to Death” by Adonis, and it also seeks to examine it role in explaining its meanings, and highlighting the possible contradictions within the text
