This research seeks to enlighten the recipient of ancient Arabic literature in general, and the literature of Abu Ala Al-Maari in particular, that the message of Sahil and Shahej is one of the eminent literary works of the Abbasid era from both sides objectively and formally, which rarely received the attention of critics and researchers, despite the topics and issues it contained.

Fertile research, because it includes issues in the arts and various sciences, in, history, geography, sociology, literature and language.

Accordingly, this research will present the general framework of the message by addressing the reasons for its composition, the time of its writing, and providing a summary of its structure and the most important topics that it has broached.

The research will also try to answer a fundamental question: Why did al-Maari excluded the animal world, to empty the language and creativity out of his pocket.
