Abstract EN

Research theme: The paper provides an empirical analytical study of the methods of reception and delivery of Quran, which were adopted by Quran reciters.

It elaborated their definitions, types, words and phrases used to express each method and a description of each type.

Research aims: To highlight Muslim scholars’ consideration of transmission paths of Quran reciters and their exactitude in accurately receiving and delivering the Quran.

To provide the concept of each method of reception and delivery.

To provide the origin and provenance of each method of reception and delivery and its use by Quran reciters.

To clarify accredited and unaccredited methods of receiving and delivering the Quran.

Research problem: What are the methods of reception and delivery? What are the ramifications of each method? Have they been used by Quran reciters in the same way as being used by the scholars of Hadith? Are all those methods reliably accredited as methods of receiving and delivering the recitation of the Quran? Research results: Methods of receiving and delivering the Quran vary according to their use by Quran reciters.

Some of them are rarely used by them such as murāsalah (correspondence) and wijādah (finding a Quran manuscript and transmitting it via its reciter).

Some of them are used on a limited scale such as munāwalah (to handle the reported part of the Quran to a student to transmit it on the authority of the teacher).

Some of those methods are used frequently such as direct hearing and teaching from a Quran teacher.

The standard method, which is commonly used by Quran reciters, is reciting to a teacher while he is listening to the student.

Scholars of Quran recitations differentiate between transmission of a Quran mode of recitation through a well-known chain of narrators and properly articulating the text of the Quran.

The former may be acquired through any of the methods of reception while the latter is only conducted through the method of direct reading by a student to his teacher.
