Abstract EN

The present study aimed to recognize the relationship between Prejudice and locus of control among university female students in Riyadh.

The researcher used the descriptive.

The study population is composed of female students from public universities in Riyadh city (Imam University, King Saud University and Princess Noura University).

The study sample consisted of 507 female students of the 4th year who were randomly selected by the stratified method.

The study participants were distributed according to a number of variables (academic level, cumulative rate and the level of family income).

The researcher has prepared a scale of prejudice according to the following prejudicial trends: tribal and cultural prejudice, as well as prejudice against the opposite sex.

In order to measure the locus of control, the researcher used (Rotter, 1966) scale which was arabicized by Kafafi to suit the Arab environment and codified by Al- Moushawah (1982) and Al-Qahtani (2015) to suit the Saudi environment.

The study results: The study reached the following findings: 1.

There is a statistically significant positive relationship at the level of (0.01) between prejudice towards the opposite sex and the external locus of control.

There is no statistically significant relationship between the two dimensions of tribal and cultural prejudice and the locus of control 3.

There are no statistically significant differences between the internal and the external locus of control in both tribal and cultural prejudice 4.

There are no statistically significant differences in all the dimensions of the prejudice scale (tribal and cultural prejudice as well as prejudice against the opposite sex), attributed to differences in the level of family income (high - fair - low).
