The Agricultural and Rural Renewal Policy is a continuation of the agricultural development policy, Which was launched in 2000, The Milk Branch was considered the second most important branch of the 10 priority products within this policy, Where a milk production program in Algeria has been allocated, including financial support for the production, collection and transformation of milk, The National Office Professional of Milk (ONIL) was the general organizational tool of the state policy, Local of milk increased significantly under the implementation of this program, but this did not prevent the State from continuing to import milk powder, The Lack of attention to the development of local livestock and the non-adaptation of imported breeds, The weakness of feed resources, the traditional system of of raising cattle, Loss and corruption of a large part of the milk during collection, The use of part of the milk powder supported in other products, the price policy…, All these reasons and others obstructed the policy of agricultural and rural renewal in the achievement of self-sufficiency of milk in Algeria.
