Abstract EN

The present study aims at shedding light on the concept of university and its modern roles, and getting to know the community partnership, and to highlight the importance of promoting an effective community partnership between universities and private sector organizations through the analysis of both Japanese and Malaysian experience.

The study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which is that certain mechanisms in the Japanese experience have achieved positive results in the success of the partnership between the private sector organizations and the universities, such as joint research, contractual research and research chairs.

The Malaysian experience was developed at Malaysia Technology Development Company, where it worked on concluding treaties and creating long-term strategic cooperation opportunities between private sector organizations, universities and research institutes, and ensuring the success of partnership.
