The study concerned the study ofthe specific environmentalcharacteristics of the water of theriver Gharraf in WasitGovernorate.

According to theresults of the analysis of thesamples as the water representsthe river Gharraf being a base ofabundant salt ratios.

Theresearch relied on the use of theGIS system and statisticalanalysis programs such asCanoco and a naturalstatistical analysis to show thedegree of concentration ofcharacteristics and compare themwith the natural course of thesystem.

Statistical maps werealso presented showing thedistribution and concentration ofcharacteristics according to thesites from which samples weretaken.

As shown by the study, ) there is a variance in the size of concentrations of environmental characteristics along the Gharraf
