Abstract EN

This study aims to reveal the effectiveness of a program based on controlling and monitoring the comprehension and multimedia in improving the students' achievements in Tajweed skills of the Holly Quran among grade eleven students in the Sultanate of Oman.

The researcher uses a semi-empirical approach using a sample of 55 students divided between controlled and experimental groups from Nafessa Bint Al Hassan School in Al-Batina North Governorate.

The students gave a pre-test which proves that both groups are equivalent.

The study tools consist of testing tools which are lists of Tajweed skill, lists of controlled comprehension's operations and multi-media programs.

In addition to that, it contains some assessment tools such as the cognitive tests to measure the theoretical side of the Tajweed rules and the oral tests to measure the applied side of the Tajweed rules.

The results of both tests were recorded on observations cards.

After that, The results were entered into statistical package program called SPSS.

The static analysis shows the following results.

Firstly, There is a statistically significant difference at the function level( α≤0.05 ) between the average score of both the controlled and experimental groups of the post evaluation in the cognitive test achievement's in the Tajweed skills in general and in the Character attributes fields as well as their associated skills. This difference is in favour of the experimental group.

The second result indicates a difference on function level(α≤0.05) between the average score of the experimental group 's results on the pre and post- tests in the cognitive achievement of the Tajweed skills in general and their associated skills in particular.

This difference is on favour of the post application of the skills.

The third result shows that there is a significant differences at the level of the function( α≤0.05) between the average scores of both controlled and experimental groups in the post evaluation in the observation cards of the oral test in favour of the experimental group.

Moreover, there is existence of a positive correlation at the level of the function (0.05 ) between the responses of the research sample in the achievement tests and their responses in the oral test which were recorded in the observation cards.

The researcher recommends increasing the importance of using multimedia programs and attaching them to the teacher's guide.

Furthermore, the researcher suggests carrying further studies on the strategies of comprehension control for its effectiveness in clarifying the content
