Abstract EN

ABSTRACT This study aims to understand and analyze Russia's Role in Syria since the beginning of Syrian crisis.

The study will divide the Russian intervention into three phases according to the type of the intervention, which varies according to the tools and the time period, objectives, and relations between Russia and other powers.

The study shows that despite strategic goals that were adopted by Russia and pushed it to take its decision and intervene in Syria and partial success in achieving these goals, but Russian ambitions based on brittle pillars in Syria, also faces difficulties related to western challenges to Russian activities, Russian management to Astana contradictions.

All the above could make things so difficult for the Russian, Especially if they decided to withdrawal from Syrian swamp and could make Russia face the risks of new cold war with western and risks of increasing tensions between Iran- Israel in Syria.
