Abstract EN

In this article, I refer to the different periods relating to Setif region; before, during and after the expansion stage, also the Islamic religion that is adopted by the population in the era of El-FatehAbou Al-Mouhajir Dinar, and Oqba Ben Nafaa.

As well as I discuss the consequent of the main events since the establishment of the Aghlabids Emirate.

In addition Setif has been a base of Emirate activity in the land ok Kutama further more, its role as a base to diffuse the Shiism in the Islamic Maghreb.

I also treat all the events which followed the transition of Fatimid Caliphate in Egypt, and the situation of Kutama tribe under the Zirid authority, then the Hammadid through the independence of Hammad Ibn Buluggin from the Zirids.

Thus the major events that Setif has experienced since the establishment of Almohad Caliphate, particularly the great fight between Bini Hilal and Almohad army in 584 SH, then the situation of Setif under the loyalty of the Hafsid dynasty.
