This research explains the disagreement between Arab grammarians mainly in terms of flair differences.

This will be demonstrated by several arguments.

It also shows that the reasons mentioned in the literature include the environment, political stance, intolerance and competition.

Such reasons influence flair and do not necessarily lead to disagreement.

We will first explain the concept of flair, its means of development, and how it is affected by educational background, environment, affection, individual mood and any other external influences.

We classify the disagreement between grammarians based on two types of flair.

The first is individual flair and it includes the different utterances of a particular scholar.

This will be illustrated by the different sayings of Sibawayh about one particular issue and the disagreement between the pillars of the same school namely Al Khalil and Sibawayh.

Additional examples of this disagreement will be provided based on the phenomenon of choice and selection in the book of Sibawayh and the Quran meanings of Al-farraa.

The second type includes the divergence between the Basrians and the Kufians at the level of grammatical principles as well as macro and micro issues in grammar.
