Abstract EN

The research topic is entitled: “A Call to Those Wanting the Forgiveness of the Lord of the Worlds: Let Them Pardon, An Objective Study".

The study emphasizes the manner of forgiveness as a means to attaining God’s Forgiveness.

It addressed several questions pertaining to the topic, most significantly: Is forgiveness always required regardless of the circumstances, even if it leads the offender to continue harming and inflicting damage? Is forgiveness always commendable? What is the meaning of forgiveness from the Islamic perspective? These questions, among others, form the topic of this study.

It thoroughly explores the meaning of forgiveness, drawing a distinctive line between forgiveness and humiliation, thus dispersing the misconception confusing one for the other.

Then, it tackles the criteria and conditions for the rightful forgiveness that Islam encourages and calls for, so that no one would abuse the term as an excuse to wrong others or escalate their offence.

The study also maintains the virtue of this manner and its effect on the forgiver, both in this life and the afterlife, the case which should encourage abiding by it, with a glimpse of the overall impact on the individual and the society
