Abstract EN

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds.

May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon the most honourable of Messengers, our Master Muḩammad, peace be upon him and upon all his family and companions! This is a research on the figures of speeches in the Holy Qur᾿ān regarding the second quarter of Sūrat An-Naḩl.

The rhetorical inimitability in the Qur‛ān represents an illuminating aspect out of the general inimitability of the Qur᾿ān.

All the scholars have agreed on it being the most significant kind of that inimitability.

Although the Qur᾿ān has other aspects of inimitability but this one is the most important since it reaches the peak in eloquence, rhetoric and diction.

Even though a Qur᾿ānic sentence may consist of a few words, it expresses a meaning that can be communicated only by double that number of words.

This is done through various figures of speeches, such as bright similes, supreme metaphors, anaphora, antithesis, puns and so on.

In this research, we can find concrete proofs with respect to this aspect of inimitability.

The research tackles 20 verses from Sūrat An-Naḩl, and investigates the inimitability and rhetorical aspects in them.

Consequently, over 100 types of eloquence, rhetoric and diction aspects are found, showing the magnificence of the Qur᾿ān.

The Qur᾿ān is the Holy book revealed by Allah to guide people and bring them out from darkness into the light.
