Abstract EN

The Holy Qur’ān demonstrates God’s care for the human soul and its reform, presenting various ways and means, given the diversity of people and their inclinations.

Due to the importance of the topic and the social need for it, this paper aims to shed light on this Qur’ānic Surah (chapter) of At-Takathur (Rivalry in Worldly Benefits).

It’s a short Surah that addresses the methodology of reform and education.

The study is entitled, “SūratAt-Takāthur: its Methodology in Educating the Human Soul.” It begins with and introduction illustrating the importance of the topic, the reason for choosing it, and the research outline.

The paper falls into two sections.

The first section includes an overview of Surat At-Takāthur, explaining the name of the Surah, the logic behind it, the number of verses, its Meccan revelation, and its major objectives.

The second section tackles the educational approach of the Surah.

It is divided into three subsections: education by dialogue, education by repetition, and education by warning.

The paper concludes with several findings.

The most important of these are that dialogue is a major educational technique, repetition is an educational approach characteristic of the Qur’ān, and the purpose of warning in the Surah is to alarm the mind and rectify the manner
