One of the good traditions that King Abdulaziz established is that the king, following the Sunnah of the Prophet, leads the pilgrims in every season and pursues their affairs, and this means the rulers 'appreciation of this great ritual and their great interest in the guests of the Most Merciful.

The first three kings following King Abdulaziz - Saud, Faisal, and Khalid (1373-1402 AH / 1952-1982 CE) - followed their father's approach since they took over one after the other the reins of affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Umm Al-Qura Newspaper, the official gazette of the Saudis, has monitored what is related to their service to the guests of the Holy House of God, their leadership of the seasons, their own supervision of the arrangements and equipment, and their follow-up of them from the beginning of washing the Holy Kaaba in preparation for receiving pilgrims until the completion of the season every year.

Among the most important actions that they did on their own when leading the pilgrims and following their affairs, washing the Holy Kaaba, receiving official delegations and heads of Hajj missions, giving speeches and words of kings during the Hajj seasons when receiving delegations or bidding farewell to them and at Arafat, In view of the circumstances that may occur to them, they needed someone to help them, so they deputized for them who would succeed them in supervising the season in some years or who would bear some of his burdens and tasks even in the presence of the king.
