Abstract EN

Almighty Allah's Book is a rich spring for linguistic and syntactic studies.

The more it is pondered, the more it gives new tenor.

Its study aspects are endless.

Hence, the present research “kana”, past or present, preceded by a negative particle.

a structure that is frequently mentioned in the Glorious Qur'an.

This involves tracing the syntactic features of this structure and surveys its diverse forms, offering several examples to each form from the Glorious Qur'an, identifying the negative particle used with it, and investigating pertinent syntactic issues.

This is also coupled with an attempt to list the meanings given by such form within respective contexts.

For this purpose, the present research – which largely adopts a descriptive and analytical approach - draws primarily on the Glorious Qur'an and Al-Muajam Al-Mufahras li Al-Faz Al-Quran Al-Kareem Wifqa Nuzul al Kalimat (Indexed Dictionary of the Words of the Qur'an), through which the structure under study is traced, with its diverse forms illustrated and respective syntactic and semantic features examined, with recourse to available syntax, Qur'an exegesis and parsing and recitation reference books
