Algeria's political and economic reforms had an impact on the regulation of labour relations in general and on its duration in particular.

Although the Algerian legislature considers them to be an exception to the principle of durability, which characterizes labour relations exclusively in specicific cases, the reality has proved to be widespred, as they are less physically expensive and less legally binding.

The Algerian legislature has therefore tried to establish the parameters of this type of employment relationship in order to limit the wishes and whims of employees by limiting the cases to which recourse can be made.

The same position was taken by the Algerian judge, who gave a narrow interpretation of these legal standards.
