This sample is represented by a military diploma issued by order of Emperor Claudius to demobilize Spartico Diusini, one of the contracted conscripts in the working force of the Misenum fleet.

From this standpoint, in this research paper, I will work to define this diploma in terms of the form it takes, the nature of the materials and tools used in its preparation, and the way it is written.

Besides reading its content, we can build historical knowledge about recruit in the Roman fleets, and emphasize its comparison with what came in other maritime diplomas in order to track the process and the monotony in the methodology of its formulation and identify points of similarity and difference between them, in addition to the necessity of comparing it with other available material and literary sources to reach more accurate results.
