The folk proverbs of the Islamic Occident reflect a vivid picture of the interactions that society, power, production and culture have known, which qualifies it as a generous document for the renewal of the historical writing process, especially if it is subjected to integrated approaches that benefit in reconsidering the concepts and issues that folk literature in general includes, that invades the unthinking and the silent In the countries of the Maghreb and Andalusia in the Middle Ages, and he was able to monitor the regularities, interconnections, deep movements and general trends controlling event, time and field, and the researcher freed from the stereotypical information that traditional sources abound.

What gives colloquial proverbs its epistemological and methodological value is that the mythology of the Islamic West is full of many works that contain a huge amount of proverbs, especially those related to facts, flags and specific places, from which it is easy to deduce historical facts, based on a specific historical framework.

Then the article came to review the linguistic and idiomatic concept of proverbs, and the colloquial proverbs in particular, the history of proverbs books in the cultural scene in the Islamic West, and the historical value of folk proverbs, with a warning about the contemporary readings that this source race was exposed to, some of which did not understand the general context of the composition structure of Andalusians Moroccans in this category of sources, so they reduced the creativity of the people of the Islamic West in this regard, and denied them all renewal, or called popular literature the mark of inferiority, as if scholarly literature is the only decisive factor in reading the civilized history of nations, which we tried to deny by highlighting the added value of the vernacular proverb in Refining the historian's operation mechanisms.
