Abstract EN

The Catacombs of Kom el'shoqafa in Alexandria's and its main burial chamber in particular received a great attention from the classical archaeologists; Due to its architectural and decorative-program uniqueness, which is reflected in the architectural planning with its unique architectural elements, as well as the multicultural nature of the tomb, which gives evidence and concepts of faith and belief that did not appear in another necropolis from the same period.

The researcher wanted to contribute in this field through this paper that adopts a new reading and vision based on modern interpretations with the aim of understanding more architectural elements and the decorative program of the main tomb.

This study will contribute within the new vision to understanding the funeral beliefs of the Alexandrian society during the Roman era.
