Providence with Seneca.

Seneca has referred to Providence in earlier works such as “Naturales Quaestiones”, and “Phaedra”.

Seneca's De Providentia (on Providence) basically handles the issue of Divine justice through the question: why do many evils happen to good men while the universe is run by Divine Providence? Seneca believed in gods and their Providence and therefore he defended them.

Seneca has explained the stoic meaning of Providence defining it as “destiny” and described it the necessity for all things and actions, and that there is no power that can withstand against this necessary or defeat it, and that the world cannot go without a protector.
