Abstract EN

The study aims to compare the speed of spatial visual information processing in children with intellectual disabilities (autism disorder, mental disability and autism disorder with mental disability).

The study sample consisted of (45) cases, (15) suffer from autism disorder, (15) suffer from mental disability and the third (15) cases suffer from both autism and mental disabilities, their ages ranged from (8-11 years).

All of them are frequent patients at Al Amal Hospital for Mental Health in Arar’s Northern border region - Saudi Arabia.

Results showed that there were significant differences between the mean scores and the time of response of the three types of the study sample, (autism disorder, those of mental disability and those of both disorder and autism mental disability) in the speed of processing visual spatial information, in favor of those with mental disability.
