Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the experience of community participation in strategic development planning process of the Palestinian local bodies in Tulkarm, by depending on the collected data in the field through a special questionnaire which has been designed to achieve the purposes and goals of this study.

The study included 26 localities which has prepared strategic plans with the participation of community.

It was chosen as a random sample of all of those who participated in the development planning process of community, which included members and non-members of the local bodies.

The results showed that the degree of motivation and incentives to community participation was a great, where the arithmetic average was (3.71), while the obstacles that hinder the community participation process was very large, where the arithmetic average (4.03), As the degree of impacts of community participation was great, where the arithmetic average was (3.94).
