Abstract EN

This study examines illegal immigration from the African Horn and the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, given that the Kingdom is one of the countries that attracts immigration because of its great economic growth, and it is one of the largest oil producing and exporting countries, as well as the presence of the Two Holy Mosques on its lands gave greater religious value to all Muslims.

To achieve the goals of this study, a questionnaire was prepared containing the socioeconomic characteristics of infiltrators.

The study also included many maps that show the sea and land routes through which infiltrators travel to reach Saudi Arabia.

The study questionnaire was applied by a personal interview method on a random sample of 400 infiltrators.

Skilled smugglers play an important role in the success of infiltrations into Saudi lands.

This is due to their expertise in roads and lanes, and their high ability to move quickly to avoid checkpoints as well as their cooperation and coordination with local smugglers.

Among the most important results of the study is that; the percentage of infiltrators who entered Saudi Arabia through rough mountain roads reached about 80%, 65% of them hold Yemeni nationality, while infiltrators from the African Horn constitute 35%.

The most prominent recommendations of the study are the necessity of building a security fence or creating deep and wide trenches that individuals or vehicles cannot cross, activating the joint agreements between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni authorities to protect and control borders, security coordination with the countries of the African Horn for Finding practical solutions to reduce illegal immigration through Their countries.
